Yukiteru Amano is a boy who is closed in on himself and keeps a diary on his cell phone in which he writes down everything that happens around him. He thinks he has an imaginary friend, called Deus Ex Machina, the lord of time. One day Deus decides to organize a game and gives Yukiteru his cell phone back, after having modified it personally, the diary reports facts that have not yet happened.

This "modification" however, is soon applied to other people's diaries. The game consists of a survival game where participants must try to kill each other or destroy the diaries of the future of the opponents (which kills them). Whoever survives will take the place of Deus as the god of time and space. Yukiteru will be helped by the intrepid Yuno Gasai, in love with Yuki, who hides many secrets that will be discovered during the story.
